Your financial data is personal. We treat it that way.

This policy explains what D&B Langford Money collects, why we use it, how we protect it, and the rights available to you under UK GDPR.

Policy date: 21 February 2025

A clear promise

We ask for the information needed to plan budgets, track spending, and provide useful forecasts. We keep access focused and explain the reason before we use it.

UK GDPR

Our privacy framework

Read-only

For connected accounts

At a glance

What this policy covers

It applies when you use D&B Langford Money services, contact us, or browse our website. The short version is simple.

Only what we need

We collect information for a stated purpose and avoid gathering details that do not support the service.

Protected in use

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to authorised systems and people.

Your choices stay yours

You can ask what we hold, correct it, request deletion, or move certain information elsewhere.

We tell you about change

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date and explain the change clearly.

01 · Information

What we collect

The information depends on how you use the service. You can use the budgeting tools without connecting a bank account.

Data minimisation in practice

We do not ask for online banking passwords. Connected account access is arranged through an authorised Open Banking provider.

Account details

Your name, email address, sign-in details, preferences, and messages sent to our support team.

Budget information

Categories, planned amounts, savings targets, investment goals, and transactions you enter yourself.

Open Banking data

With your explicit consent, we may receive account, balance, and transaction data from your chosen provider on a read-only basis.

Technical details

IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, approximate location, and service activity logs.

02 · Control

How we use your data and your rights

We use information to provide personal budget planning, maintain account security, answer support requests, and improve the service. We rely on consent, contract, or legitimate interests, depending on the activity.

Access and a copy

Ask us to confirm whether we process your information and provide a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction and completion

Tell us when information is inaccurate or incomplete. We will correct it and update connected records where appropriate.

Erasure and restriction

You can request deletion in suitable circumstances, or ask us to limit processing while a concern is reviewed.

Portability and objection

You may request certain information in a usable format and object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing.

How to make a request

Email [email protected] with the subject "Data rights request". Include the account email you use with D&B Langford Money and describe what you need.

We may ask for reasonable proof of identity before releasing or changing personal information. We aim to respond within one month, as required by UK GDPR.

You can also complain.

The UK's supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Visit ico.org.uk for guidance or to raise a concern.

03 · Safeguards

Security and retention

Security controls match the sensitivity of personal finance data. We keep information only for as long as the stated purpose, legal duties, or an active account requires.

Protection is a daily task

Encryption

Data moving between your device and our services is encrypted. Stored records are protected with encryption at rest and controlled access.

Retention by need

Account information is retained while your account is active. We remove or anonymise it when it is no longer needed, subject to legal records we must keep.

Careful providers

Service providers may support hosting, security, analytics, or Open Banking connections. They process data under written instructions and suitable safeguards.

Open Banking arrangements

Connections are consent-led and read-only. D&B Langford Money does not store your bank login credentials, and you can withdraw consent through the relevant provider or by contacting us.

If something goes wrong

We assess suspected personal data incidents, contain the issue, and notify affected people or the ICO when the law requires it.

04 · Website choices

Cookies and how to contact us

Our cookies policy covers the small files used to keep the website working, remember preferences, understand visits, and measure service performance. You can manage non-essential cookies through your browser settings or our consent controls.

We may revise this policy when our services, suppliers, or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows which version applies.

Our privacy lead handles requests about access, deletion, Open Banking privacy, and cookies policy questions.
